Product Overview

BROZEET-LS Drops is a paediatric prescription medicine containing levosalbutamol, ambroxol and guaiphenesin. It is used to help relieve wet or productive cough associated with thick mucus and narrowing of the airways. The combination helps relax the airway muscles, loosen mucus and make phlegm easier to expel.

It should be given to children only in the exact dose and for the duration prescribed by a doctor.

Composition

Each 1 ml contains:

• Levosalbutamol: 0.25 mg
  (as Levosalbutamol Sulphate IP)
• Ambroxol Hydrochloride IP: 7.5 mg
• Guaiphenesin IP: 12.5 mg
• Flavoured base: q.s.

Uses

BROZEET-LS Drops may be prescribed for:

• Wet or mucus-producing cough
• Chest congestion with thick mucus
• Cough accompanied by wheezing or airway narrowing
• Respiratory conditions in which mucus needs to be loosened and removed

This medicine is not intended for every type of cough, particularly a simple dry cough, unless prescribed by the doctor.

How It Works

• Levosalbutamol relaxes the muscles surrounding the airways, helping improve airflow and reduce wheezing.
• Ambroxol thins and loosens thick mucus in the respiratory tract.
• Guaiphenesin is an expectorant that helps make mucus easier to cough out.

Directions for Use

• Give BROZEET-LS Drops only in the dose prescribed by the paediatrician.
• Measure the dose accurately using the supplied calibrated dropper.
• The dose is determined according to the child’s age, weight and medical condition.
• It may be given with or without food; giving it after food may help reduce stomach discomfort.
• Do not increase the dose, repeat it more frequently or continue it longer than advised.
• Do not combine it with another cough-and-cold medicine unless approved by the doctor.

Possible Side Effects

Some children may experience:

• Nausea or vomiting
• Stomach discomfort or diarrhoea
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Trembling or shakiness
• Restlessness
• Increased or noticeable heartbeat
• Mild skin rash

Seek medical help if the child develops breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, chest pain or a very fast or irregular heartbeat.

Precautions

Inform the doctor before giving this medicine if the child has:

• A heart condition or irregular heartbeat
• Thyroid disorder
• Diabetes
• Seizure disorder
• Kidney or liver problems
• A history of allergy to any ingredient

Extra caution is required if the child is taking other bronchodilators, heart medicines, diuretics or cough-and-cold preparations. Seek medical review if the cough persists, breathing becomes difficult, wheezing worsens, or the child develops high fever or bluish lips.
